Artist Spotlight: Takeshi Matsu

Today's Artist Spotlight post is the first to feature a gay male manga artist.  The artist is Takeshi Matsu and you'll probably notice that his art style is a bit different from what is normally featured here.  His style is what Western fans refer to as "bara."  In short, it features more muscular, masculine looking males.  Unlike most yaoi (which is usually created by women for women), bara is created by men for men.

For most Artist Spotlights, I try to use works from artbooks as opposed to actual manga scans or scanlations.  Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, Takeshi Matsu has not released an artbook of any kind.  As a result, this post is made up of selected (worksafe) scans from his works.  For more, I recommend you check out the newly reopened Gabe's Yaoi Corner (link contains adult content), which includes mature content I won't be posting here.

Happy Thanksgiving

This is just a quick note to wish everyone out there a Happy Thanksgiving (even if you're not in a country that celebrates it).  Since I'll be celebrating with family on Thanksgiving and working (I work retail) on the day after, there won't be any more posts until Saturday.  I've got some interesting posts on the way and I'm always open to suggestions in comments, shoutbox, or e-mail.

In the meantime, I'm going to leave you with a simple pic that combines two of Sunrise's biggest male stars of the past couple of years, Lelouch of Code Geass (whose second season is currently airing late-night Saturdays on Adult Swim) and Setsuna of Gundam 00 (which started airing on Sci-Fi on Monday).

Guys From The Tales Series Part Four

Well, it's finally time for the fourth installment of guys from the Tales series of RPG's.  I first thought that this post would be the last one, but I still have a ton of artwork I could use.  When I do another one, it might just be dedicated to one of the games as opposed to a mixture of them.

Gundam Seed Destiny

The last Gundam series before the current Gundam 00 was Gundam Seed Destiny, a sequel to the previous Gundam Seed. The basic conflict has natural humans going against the genetically-superior coordinators.

Both Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny have large casts of guys but I like Destiny's a bit more.  There will probably be a Seed post in the future as well as another Destiny post.

Namor

Looking for characters to post, I realized that I hadn't devoted a post to Namor The Sub-Mariner by himself.  So, I decided to remedy that.

Today's post features artwork from the Namor series (where he was younger) and the most recent Sub-Mariner: The Initiative miniseries.
