New Avengers

For HFG's last post of 2008, it's time for something "new"...New Avengers that is.  These scans come from issue 48 and feature the new lineup, which includes several faves.

More Special A

After the Special A post back in October, I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to find enough art of the guys to do another post. Well, I now have enough for a simple mini-post.

All of the pics below are from DVD inserts. There are two inserts in each DVD with one focusing on the girls and one focusing on the guys. I'm only posting the ones with the guys front and center.

Tekken Forever

Well, here's a post-Christmas treat.  Today's post features personal scans from a short-lived comic book.  The book in question is Tekken Forever.  Published by Image back in 2001, this series lasted exactly one issue.  It's unclear exactly why it was canceled.

As far as I can tell, there are very few scans of this comic book out there.  It's unfortunate that this comic only lasted one issue especially since, as you'll see from the scans, it featured just about every male character from that game.

Paco Diaz did the artwork for this issue (both pencils and inks).  I hope you enjoy these scans...even if they aren't nearly as good as the ones I post from people who know what they're doing.

Merry Christmas! - Comics

The second Christmas-themed post features selected scans from the 2008 DCU Holiday Special.

Any guesses on who the young man in these pics grows up to be?  I won't spoil it but I can tell you it's not Superman:

I'm happy to see old-school Aquaman in these pics:

Finally, a touching ending to a story involving Robin and Nightwing on Christmas Eve:

HFG will be taking a short holiday break.  New posts will start up again on December 27th.

I hope everyone out there has a wonderful and merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! - Anime/Manga

It's time to celebrate Christmas HFG-style!  This first installment of Christmas pics has an anime/manga theme. There's a good variety to be found, including pics from shows I haven't even featured here yet.

First up, Kuroshitsuji's Ciel and Sebastian want to wish you a Merry Christmas:

Next, the Ouran High School Host Club descends from the sky bearing gifts:

Kagome tries to cuddle with Inuyasha in this pic:

Two of the couples from Junjou Romantica celebrate Christmas in these manga scans:

The Get Backers join in the Christmas fun as well:

The first Code Geass pic is a group pic while the second one has Lelouch wanting to show you a Merry Christmas:

The Christmas pics from Kyou Kara Maou are really cute.  Here are two of them:

I like Lockon's green Santa suit in this Gundam 00 pic:

The main characters of Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny seem to combine Christmas and New Year's in this pic:

The characters of Full Metal Alchemist go Christmas shopping in this pic:

I don't know if this La Corda pic is really Christmas-themed or not...but it does have snowflakes:

And finally, could you imagine if Santa looked like one of these guys from Prince of Tennis?:

Look for the second Christmas post later today!

Last Chaos

Last Chaos is one of those free-to-play MMORPG's.  I don't know much about it, but I do know that there are at least some nice artwork for it out there.  I always like unexpected finds like this.

One Piece

One Piece is a very popular manga (and anime) created by Eiichiro Oda about a boy who seeks to become the greatest pirate of them all.  What I like about One Piece is the cartoony (but still very much manga-esque) art style.  The manga currently runs in the U.S. version of Shonen Jump published by Viz and the anime is available from Funimation.
