Young Justice: Five Years Later

The second season of Young Justice premiered last Saturday.  The new season takes place five years after the end of the first season.  Dick Grayson (who was Robin last season) is now Nightwing and, as you can see above, time has been very good to him. There's no sign of Wally, Red Arrow/Speedy, or current banner guy Kaldur yet. However, we do get to see Tim Drake as Robin.

More screencaps from "Happy New Year" are below.

Young Justice

Let's get 2011 off to a great start with a post featuring the guys of Cartoon Network's newest action series Young Justice.  The screencaps in today's post are from the pilot, which aired in November.  The show starts airing regularly later this month.

I liked the pilot and its unique take on the characters.  It's sort of what I expected the Teen Titans cartoon to be like.

The image archive for today's post features over 200 bonus screencaps.

"Last" Time and New Beginning

Every time I think a comic is the last one we'll see of Dick Grayson as Nightwing, DC comes out with something else.  Batman #687 may very well be the "last" time we'll see Dick as Nightwing unless it's a flashback.  Ed Benes does the pencils for the pages below:

Then, in Batman #688, we get to see Dick as Batman.  I like him as Batman thus far (Batman & Robin is definitely worth checking out).  I wonder how long will he stay Batman.  Will it be something that's undone in a year or two (like the deaths of Superman and Captain America) or will it be semi-permanent (like the different Robins/Flashes)?  Mark Bagley does the pencils in the scans below:

Superboy and Robin (But Not The One You Think)

From Scans Daily comes this awesome piece of commissioned artwork by Gene Espy featuring Superboy and Robin.  When you look at this image, please note the title...

Battle For The Cowl

Even though they no longer have their own titles, Dick Grayson and Tim Drake are still quite hot as evidenced by the first issue of Battle For The Cowl.  Tony Daniel does a nice job with the art (and story too) and even manages to include some shirtless Dick.  Below, you'll find some scans.

SuperBat

What would happen if Superman's powers were transferred to Batman?  That's the intriguing premise behind the SuperBat storyline currently running in Superman/Batman.  The arc, which features pencils by Rags Morales, is set to conclude with issue #56.  This post features scans from issues #53-55.

Penultimate Part Two

Robin #182 is the next-to-last issue of this volume of the series.  I'm going to miss this series just as I will miss Nightwing.  I'm looking forward to seeing what they're going to do with Tim Drake, especially since he's no longer in Teen Titans.  The two scans I'm posting are a good example of how far the character has come.
