All About Hot Fictional Guys

Here are some answers to some questions you may have about this blog.

  • What is Hot Fictional Guys?
  • Hot Fictional Guys (aka HFG) is a blog devoted to the males found in anime, manga, video games, comics, and cartoons. Males from other forms of artwork such as illustrations are also featured as well.
  • Why isn't there any porn or nudity?
  • HFG was created to be a worksafe place for some non-live-action eye candy. There are plenty of places to find porn if you want that instead.
  • Why don't you post fanart?
  • Out of respect for the artists. I know that answer is the beginning of a slippery slope, but I have seen some fan art sites I like suddenly close or restrict access because the artists found it online. I have slipped up once or twice but for the most part, everything I post is either official artwork or screencaps.
  • I'm an artist and I create art/fanart. Can I send you images to post?
  • Yep. I'll be happy to post your art and link to your site if it's good. Just make sure that the art fits with what HFG posts (no porn) and that you actually made it.
  • Can you post this complete comic book/manga chapter for me?
  • No. I'll only post excerpts from comic books or manga. There are plenty of places to get the whole thing if you really want it.
  • What about doujinshi?
  • That kind of fits in the fanart category but doujinshi isn't off-limits. I just don't usually post it.
  • What if I see my artwork on your site and I don't want it there?
  • Contact me and I'll take it down.
  • What if I go to a post and I find images missing? What if the link to an image archive is broken?
  • Contact me and I'll see if I can reupload the image.  However, I will not reupload image archives.  Also, please note that I may not remember exactly what pictures were in what post.
  • Why do some of your posts "suck"?
  • HFG embraces a mix of guys. That means you're just as likely to see bishounen as you are superheroes. If you don't like the guys in one post, you may like them in the next one.
  • There hasn't been a new post in a long time.  Are you still updating?  Is the blog closed?
  • The short answer is no.  Between my day job and social life, it steadily became harder and harder to take the time to curate images for posts.  Combine this with a shrinking amount of space on my Blogger account and the uncertainty of free image hosts and it lead to me taking an indefinite hiatus from posting.  I will not delete this blog because I don't want it to become another spam haven.  I'd rather it stay up so that people can find it and enjoy all the posts within.  I will post a farewell if/when I decide to give it up for good.
  • Do you take requests?
  • Absolutely. Just contact me and I'll see what I can do. Given the info above, I offer no guarantees it will get posted.
  • Can I send you some cool images I found online?
  • Definitely. I like finding new stuff I haven't seen before. I won't post porn and I won't post fanart unless you made it (see above). Still, if you've found some nice comic book scans, some anime/manga art, some video game artwork and so on you've never seen here, I'd love to see it.
  • Where do you find your images?
  • A variety of places online. Links to many (but not all) of them are in the sidebar. I also sometimes scan stuff myself.
  • Can I use images from your site on my own?
  • Sure. Only a fraction of the images on this site (like screencaps or personal scans) are actually done by me. Every other image comes from another site. I'd appreciate a link back to HFG if you use a few pics but it's not required. The only exceptions to this are posts where I specifically ask for people not to reuse the images. These are few and far between and usually only occur when I get images directly from an artist.
  • Is Lagosta your real name?
  • No. Here's a fun fact: Lagosta is Portuguese for lobster. Despite the name, I'm not of Latin American descent.
  • Are you a guy or a girl?
  • Guy.
  • Where are you from?
  • Chicago.
  • How old are you?
  • Next question. All kidding aside, all I'll say is that I grew up in the 90's.
  • How can I contact you?
  • You can reach me via e-mail (lagosta2700 at aim dot com), comments on the blog, or via Tumblr (see below).
  • Is HFG on Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr?
  • Not officially. However, I am on Tumblr.  You can find me here.

I hope this answers your questions about HFG. If there's something else you'd like to know, contact me.
