MANLY

MANLY is a new gay erotic comic work (18+) by writer/editor Dale Lazarov and artist Amy Colburn (with color by Dominic Cordoba).  I was able to check out an advance copy courtesy of Mr. Lazarov and I've decided to share some thoughts about it here.

MANLY features three different stories.  Each story features two muscular, masculine guys who hook up in guy-type situations.  "Busted" has a cop hook up with the guy who helped him stop a criminal.  "Clinch" has two boxers going at it in more ways than one.  "Hot Librarian" takes the old saying "You can't judge a book by its cover" to an interesting place.

Each of the stories has traditional comic-style artwork but with a twist.  There is no dialogue and very little text of any kind.  The stories are told entirely through the art.  In order to do something like this, the art has to be good and that is the case for MANLY.  Things are easy to follow for the most part with only a couple of parts that take a little figuring out.

As for the erotic nature of the book...well, it's quite hot.  It's perfect for fans of other gay artists as well as those who like bara yaoi.

Overall, MANLY is definitely worth checking out when it comes out in September in Europe and November in the U.S.  It's available for pre-order from Amazon and you can get more info at the publisher's website. [Note:  Both links may contain adult content]

Below, you'll find a few pieces of (relatively) worksafe pieces of artwork from the book.  If you want to see the racy stuff, you'll have to buy the book.
