More Vampire Knight

It's been a while since Vampire Knight has been featured on HFG.  Recently, it was announced that Viz Media had licensed the anime version for release in America.  I wonder if the show will receive season sets (as is the trend currently in American anime releases) or if Viz will milk the fanbase volume by volume.

This post features a combination of Matsuri Hino's manga art, anime artwork, and some artwork created for the Japanese Nintendo DS game.

Vampire Knight Guilty

Vampire Knight Guilty is the name of the second season of the Vampire Knight anime that has just started airing in Japan.  It picks up exactly where the previous season left off so newcomers might want to watch the first season before embarking on this one.

The new season means a new excuse to post artwork.  There's a mix of season one and season two anime artwork as well as manga artwork to be found here.

MeruPuri

Before Vampire Knight, my first encounter with Matsuri Hino's work was the series MeruPuri (Marchen Prince) which I initially read in scanlations (fan translated scans).

The manga revolves around a teenage girl named Airi who has her life turned upside down by the arrival of a young prince from a magical land. Aram, the prince, is just a boy but, of course, there's a twist. Whenever he's in darkness, Aram gets older and becomes a teenager thanks to a spell cast on him by his half-brother.

The plot may sound silly but unlike Vampire Knight, MeruPuri is a comedy so it's supposed to be silly.

If you're interested in checking it out, the entire series (4 volumes) is available from Viz.

Vampire Knight

Vampire Knight is the latest manga from Matsuri Hino, the creator of MeruPuri (one of my favorite manga). Like her previous work, Vampire Knight has its fair share of attractive guys, although this time most of them are vampires. This series is currently being serialized in Shojo Beat, although you can buy it in volumes. I picked up the first two volumes of this manga recently, which is what inspired this post.

Here is some of the great artwork from this manga series:

Vampire Knight will get an anime adaptation this Spring. Here's an early pic of what the anime looks like:
