On June 27, 2008, the comics world lost a good guy and great artist in Michael Turner. Although he might be best known for his renditions of beautiful women in titles such as Witchblade and Fathom, Turner also did some wonderful artwork of male characters as well.
As a tribute to him, I decided to make Michael Turner the first Western artist to get an Artist Spotlight here on HFG. In this post, you'll find a cross-section of artwork from Turner's work for DC, Marvel, and his own Aspen Comics. The very first scan, the variant cover of Killian's Tide, is a personal scan of my copy of this issue.
What a tragedy, he was so young. He will be missed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a talented man. As a gay dude, I really like the way he drew the male, Superhero anatomy... especially giving them some nice, bulging packages.
