Aquarion



Aquarion (aka Sousei no Aquarion or Genesis of Aquarion) is an anime series created by Shoji Kawamori.  Kawamori is an anime legend who is known for such works as Macross, Escaflowne, and Arjuna.  The show is meant to be a homage to old-school mecha shows of the 1970's and 1980's.

The picture at the top of the post was actually going to be used in the recent Misfits post.  However, I decided to do some more image digging and found that this show deserved its own post. 

The show is available on DVD in America from Funimation.

    I love the style of that concept artist! Last picture is so cute. Do you know if s/he has done any other published works?
