Revisiting The Stage Of History

With the release of Soul Calibur IV, I felt it was time to post some more artwork from the game.
I have to admit that one of the new characters, Secret Apprentice, really appeals to me.  I guess it's probably because I find guys like him attractive in real life.

[Update:  The Secret Apprentice character is originally from the game Star Wars:  The Force Unleashed.  He'll be the subject of another post in the future.]

Also, check out a recent post from Just Beautiful Men about SC IV's character creation system.  I may just need to save up for an X360 or a PS3.

JLA #23

Here are three scans from the latest issue of Justice League of America.  Also, is it just me or is Wally's butt (almost) getting the same sort of treatment usually reserved for the female characters in the third scan?

Persona: Trinity Soul

Persona: Trinity Soul is an anime series inspired by the Persona series of RPG video games.  The "trinity" in the name comes from the main characters being a trio of brothers.  I've watched a few episodes of the show and I like it despite never playing a Persona game.

Resident Evil: Degeneration

Following in the footsteps of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Capcom and Sony recently unveiled a direct-to-DVD Resident Evil CG movie called Resident Evil:  Degeneration.

My interest in this movie is that it features Leon S. Kennedy, aka the hottie who was the main character in Resident Evil 4.  I don't think he looks as hot as he did in RE4, but he's still quite attractive.

Below, you'll find two high-res images of Leon from the movie as well as the full trailer.  Neither the official Japanese site nor the official English site have much stuff up yet, although the Japanese site has more to offer.

On The Trail Of Batman

In the new issue of Robin, Tim is trying to find Batman and figure out if he's gone crazy.  As a result, we get a lot of nice art of him including a particularly heroic pose.

New Poll: Theme Weeks

Recently, a new poll was put up on the site asking about theme weeks.  I put that up because the six-month anniversary of HFG is coming and I wanted to do something special for it.  I decided that a week of themed posts would work but I had a ton of ideas and no clue which one I wanted to use.

Here are the choices for a potential theme week:

All-Request Week:  It would be a week made up entirely of requests from visitors to HFG.  I haven't figured out how I would take said requests yet but anyting suitable for the blog is fair game including stuff I have already covered.

No Anime Week:   Anime guys are a big part of what I post here but for one week, I would not post any at all.  To make things even more interesting, I won't cop out and make it all manga.  There would be a max of one manga post for the week.

Artist Spotlight Week:   A week devoted to the posts that feature the artwork of a single artist.  Although most of the artists spotlighted so far have been Japanese, this week would also include some Western/comics artists.

Video Week:  Every post for this week would feature one or multiple video clips.

Best of HFG Week:   A recap of some of this blog's best posts so far with maybe a little commentary and some additional art.

No Theme Week At All:  Things stay exactly the same and I'll just wait until the really special one-year anniversary to do something like this.

Please vote and let me know what you think in the comments or other means.  If a theme week happens, it would run from August 7-13 with a minimum of five posts.

Gantz is an ultraviolent manga (and anime) series by Hiroya Oku where recently deceased people end up semi-alive and forced to kill evil aliens in a "game."  The storyline of the show doesn't exactly appeal to me but the attractive guys (as well as their black, skintight attire) certainly do.

Ultimate Spider-Man Covers

Many of my comics posts here feature interior art so I thought I'd change it up a bit today with a post made up solely of covers.  The covers in this post are from Ultimate Spider-Man, which was my favorite comic title for quite a while.  I'll always remember walking into the comic book store one day, seeing the cover of issue #1 and deciding to pick it up because the cover drew my eye.
