Resident Evil 4

There have been some pretty hot guys in the Resident Evil series of video games and more are forthcoming. One of my faves is Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4.

Enjoy some more artwork of this zombie killer:

Spike Spiegel

One of my favorite anime series is Cowboy Bebop. I saw it long before it aired on Adult Swim and it was the first anime series I bought on DVD. If you haven't seen it, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The main character of the show is Spike Spiegel and to me, there's just something really appealing about him. On a visual level, Spike is a testament to character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto's talent. I can't pinpoint exactly what makes him attractive to me. I guess there's just a nice balance to the design.

Here are a few images of Spike to enjoy.

Thundercats

I'm a child of the 1980's, so I grew up watching Thundercats as a kid. I still enjoyed the show when I saw it again later in life and in college, when I bought comics regularly, I bought quite a few of the Thundercats ones from Wildstorm.

I always liked the look of the second, darker miniseries Thundercats: The Return and when I revisited my comic books, I realized that Ed Benes did the pencils for this series.

So, here are a few scans (not mine) mostly featuring Lion-O and a buff, grown-up Wiley-Kat.

La Corda d'Oro The Game/Manga

After three posts spotlighting the anime artwork, it's finally time to take a look at the artwork for the video game and manga versions of La Corda d'Oro. The images above are from the manga. The images below are official artwork from the second video game.

Tenjho Tenge

Tenjho Tenge is a manga/anime series by Oh! Great, the same person behind Air Gear. While the main draw of this series are the women, the guys are no slouches. Of course, you have to look a bit harder to find them.

If you're interested in checking out this series, the manga is available in English from CMX (although it's a bit edited) and the anime was released by the now-defunct Geneon Entertainment USA.

MeruPuri

Before Vampire Knight, my first encounter with Matsuri Hino's work was the series MeruPuri (Marchen Prince) which I initially read in scanlations (fan translated scans).

The manga revolves around a teenage girl named Airi who has her life turned upside down by the arrival of a young prince from a magical land. Aram, the prince, is just a boy but, of course, there's a twist. Whenever he's in darkness, Aram gets older and becomes a teenager thanks to a spell cast on him by his half-brother.

The plot may sound silly but unlike Vampire Knight, MeruPuri is a comedy so it's supposed to be silly.

If you're interested in checking it out, the entire series (4 volumes) is available from Viz.

Here's some more art from the series:
