Tom Strong

Tom Strong is a hero created by Alan Moore and Chris Sprouse as part of America's Best Comics. Tom is the ideal combination of brains and brawn.

Today's post features artwork from the most recent Tom Strong comic, the limited series Tom Strong and The Robots of Doom (issues #1-3). Chris Sprouse provides the pencils and if you want to see more of his artwork, check out the Return of Bruce Wayne post.

Psychic Detective Yakumo

Psychic Detective Yakumo is a novel series written by Manabu Kaminaga about college student Saitou Yakumo, who has the ability to see spirits due to his two different eye colors. He is asked to use his ability to help in investigations.

Like many properties in Japan, this one has been adapted into multiple formats. It has spawned two different manga series, a live-action series, and a stage play with an anime adaptation set to premiere in October.

The artwork in today's post comes from the two manga series. The artists of these series are Ritsu Miyako and Suzuka Oda.

Death Connection

Death Connection is an otome game from Otomate, the company behind such games as Hakuoki and Hiiro no Kakera. The art style is a bit more manga-esque than those games, though. I have no idea what the story of this game is about but my best guess is that it involves assassins.

Artist Spotlight: Syunnpei Nakata

Today's Artist Spotlight post features the art of Syunnpei Nakata. He is the creator of Dragon Ranger, which has been featured before on HFG.

Nakata specializes in bara and what I like about his art is that it is full-color. I also like his sense of humor (Dragon Ranger, for example, is funny and hot).

Shinobi Life

Shinobi Life is a shoujo manga by Shoko Conami. It's about a ninja named Kagetora who is the sworn protector of a princess. He falls into a lake and is transported to the present day where he finds Beni, a girl who looks exactly like the princess he was sworn to protect.

I read this manga back before it was licensed and enjoyed it. It's currently being released in America by Tokyopop.
