Hunky Lifeguard - A Micro Post

Shinryaku Ika Musume (aka Squid Girl) is a comedic manga turned anime by Masahiro Anbe about a girl from the ocean who attempts to get revenge on humanity (by herself) but ends up working at a beach house instead.

In episode 2, she meets the hunky lifeguard of this post, Goro Arashiyama, who may have a crush on her. I looked at the original manga for comparison and found out that Goro is beefier in the anime than in the manga.

Screencaps featuring Goro (not taken by me) are below.

Absolute Boyfriend

Absolute Boyfriend (aka Zettai Kareshi) is a manga series by Yuu Watase, the creator of Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres. This story focuses on a girl who accidentally orders a robot that is the "perfect boyfriend." Of course, there's a twist as the robot actually develop real feelings of love for the girl. Not only does the robot love the girl but she also has a childhood friend that has feelings for her as well.

Yep, this is pure shoujo fantasy but it's one popular enough to garner a live-action drama adaptation in Japan and another live-action version to premiere in Taiwan. If you're interested in checking out the manga, it's available in America from Viz.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is a video game where you get to play as four different versions of Spider-Man: Amazing, Ultimate, Noir, and 2099. Today's post features various artwork from this game direct from the official website's fansite kit.

Apart from the various different versions of Spider-Man, there is also some art of other characters including Kraven the Hunter and good ole Deadpool. I only wish there was some artwork of what each of the Spider-Mans look like unmasked. The game is out now for every major system.

Speedo Force 5

I wasn't planning on doing another post about Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 yet but something in a recent episode was too good to pass up.

In the episode "Battleship 5," the team goes to Planet Vandal to attempt to retrieve something from underneath its ocean. However, since team member Stanford hates Planet Vandal, they tell him that they're going to the beach. He brings his swimsuit and that swimsuit is a speedo.

Stanford spends most of the episode clad in his speedo. He's not exactly the most muscular member of the team (not to mention the tan lines) but let's put this into perspective. I cannot think of any other CG action show that has prominently featured a guy in a speedo. I'm pretty certain it never happened on ReBoot, as much as I would love to see the likes of Matrix and Bob that way.

This episode isn't the first time Stanford has rocked his speedo. He appeared briefly in one in the season one episode "Gladiators." I hope that sometime in the future, we get an episode that shows us what the rest of the guys look like under their uniforms.

Below, you'll find a selection of screencaps from both episodes mentioned above. The image archive linked at the end of this post also contains extra screencaps I didn't post.
